Requesting a quotation does not create a retainer with the law office; it is merely an invitation to the law office to make an offer on the basis of the circumstances provided. A retainer comes into being only once the parties have mutually agreed on the essential terms.

Kft., Rt., Kkt. or Bt.; or is advice needed for the choice?
The number of members affects the volume of work required.
The amount of each member’s contribution, and whether the parties undertake to make it available in cash or in kind. E.g. Member 1: HUF 3,000,000; Member 2: contribution in kind of a commercial vehicle worth HUF 4,000,000.
Do the members wish to create any body, to set a threshold or subject-matter limit on decisions, to prescribe special rules on dividend distributions, or to give effect to any other individual consideration?
For the complex (and non-public) regulation of internal relations, a separate shareholders’ agreement may be needed.
In the case of several parties, please also state the ownership shares.
E.g. Two buyers would purchase from one seller in ½–½ shares.
If not, what encumbrances are on the property?
E.g. two usufructuaries, a bank mortgage which the seller will discharge from the purchase price
The amount of the purchase price affects the fee.
A lump-sum transfer, or a bank loan, a subsidised loan, use of state subsidies. Or a combination of these. Meeting the bank’s conditions affects the volume of work.
Please state if you have already agreed with the other party on some essential circumstance.
E.g. Lease-back, deferred handover of possession, payment deadlines or anything else.
Please state the number of persons involved, and whether they are private individuals or businesses.
E.g. The owners of 2 apartments in a condominium wish to sue the contractor Kft. I am requesting a quotation on behalf of the residents.
Please briefly describe the most important circumstances of the dispute.
E.g. We have had a good contractual relationship with one of our suppliers for 5 years, but at the end of last year one consignment was completely defective. They do not admit the defect and demand the full price, whereas in our view it is worth at most 25% of the price, so we would like to send it back.
The quotation may be affected by whether advice is needed on a newly arisen dispute, whether discussions have already taken place in the matter, or whether you are seeking a lawyer because a specific order for payment or official decision has already been received.
This may be quite specific (one of our customers owes HUF 10,000,000) or an order-of-magnitude estimate (repairing the water damage will cost in the order of HUF 4,000,000).
